Coffee are those in real time or pasted together bits and pieces from various centers? If not it seems to have taken everyone a long time to figure out what was going on while on the tv it was showing planes flying into building!

"The United States has appropriated and is obligated to spend an estimated $5.9 trillion (in current dollars) on the war on terror through Fiscal Year 2019, including direct war and war-related spending and obligations for future spending on post 9/11 war veterans."
Imagine if it had been spent on something good?
stopping terrorism isn't good?

As previously mentioned having worked at ICAP our NYC office at the time was on the 24th and 25th floor of the second tower that was hit. All our US staff made it out barring one poor soul who had family over visiting from somewhere in the world and had taken them up to the viewing deck on the top floor that fateful morning if i remember correctly and never made it out of the building, those are the margins between life and death. id been out to NYC on holiday only 4 months previous and used my ICAP staff pass to get me up to the same viewing deck whilst there. Definitely makes you think.

Was living in Greece, my sister flew home that day after spending 6 weeks on holiday with me after her marriage split.
She was in the air when it happened and knew nothing of it until she landed, she said Gatwick was like a madhouse, all pretty surreal.
I was sat back in my house watching it unfold on the TV thinking, 'shit, how things are going be different after this'.

i was working in San Francisco, so the time difference meant it happened early morning there, I didnt know as I went into my downtown office and no one was around.
As the day panned out everyone went home then sat around in parks bemused by it all.
The next few days America got very patriotic and I felt very much an immigrant.

As I worked in London at the time I remember girls I knew from around the country ringing up worried about my safety and also worried that I would be called up to fight in a war

I was working in a bookies in South Street Romford watching it all with a shop full of punters.
Driving home on the A127 I remember sitting at the lights and noticing other drivers all very anxious looking and just wanting to get home.
Poxy day that was.

I was on the M4, stuck in traffic, heading towards Reading to watch us play (In the League cup was it? We played shit and lost - plus la change.). I was listening to Simon Mayo on Five Live describe the whole thing from the planes hitting the towers, to their eventual collapse, It was fucking surreal!
Anyhow, I got off with this woman after the match, a police physiotherapist if I remember correctly, who managed to get into some very strange, yet satisfying positions.
So it turned out that the day wasn't a complete washout.

I was in my Stockholm studio when my dad in London phoned me around midday wondering whether I was in NYC (I used to work quite a lot in the US back then).
Back then the internet sites were a little basic but I followed live reporting on the Expressen (daily rag) newsite as more and more planes were reported and finally the collapse of the actual buildings. I couldn't work so went home and was literally glued to the TV reports next 48 hrs.
Have to say it's probably the most shocking thing I've ever witnessed. God knows what it was like in New York itself?? Must have been life changing & I think it was for many.
I know many moved from NYC after 9/11. The city was never the same after. This was after Giuliani transformed it during the '90s.

The trouble with these conspiracy loons, is that there is a continuum of lunacy from ordinary people who would like the conspiracy to be true because they have a rather cynical world view, to the barking mad loonies like our own GO.

Saw it at home what did I feel, disbelief .
What came after for me is much more crazier than what happened that day and what we have found out since is that nothing makes any sense . The Iraq and Afghanistan invasions were nothing short of disgusting as Saudi Arabia sat arrogantly grinning on the side lines.
